comScore encourages all individuals who consider joining our research panels to read through the wealth of information that is provided on the panel’s websites. One thing that you will notice as you look through panel websites, is that there are several seals typically posted along the bottom or right edge of the home page.
These seals demonstrate how outside organizations have certified or otherwise approved comScore’s practices, and include: the WebTrust Online Privacy seal, because comScore voluntarily submits to an audit twice a year to verify that it follows the Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP), which were developed by American Institute of CPAs (AICPA); the Chartered Accountants of Canada; the Institute of Internal Auditors; and ISACA (the Information Systems Audit and Control Association).
The panel websites also feature the VeriSign Trust Seal, which certifies that the site consistently passes VeriSign’s malware scan. Network Solutions’ Assured Identity Verified seal provides confirmation to consumers that Network Solutions has verified the identity of the comScore subsidiary that operates the research panel. Trust-Guard’s Privacy Verified seal informs individuals that the panel site properly disclosures what data is shared with third parties.
* These comScore sites bear the WebTrust seal: www.relevantknowledge.com, www.opinionsquare.com, www.permissionresearch.com, www.scorecardresearch.com and www.voicefive.com. The full WebTrust report can be viewed here: https://cert.webtrust.org/ViewSeal?id=1540
