comScore’s data collection software provides unparalleled insight into the behavior of digital consumers. The patented software, installed on each panelist’s computer, reports back to comScore the detailed clickstream activity of each user. It captures a variety of usage information, including but not limited to, sites visited, pages downloaded, time spent, search queries conducted, keywords used and ads viewed. The comScore software also captures all non-personally identifiable transaction information within secure Internet sessions, which allows comScore to measure important online behavior such as e-commerce buying.

comScore has also developed a patented Session Assignment Technology that identifies the individual using the computer at any point in time based on an identification of the individual’s keyboard keystroke patterns. This means that comScore can identify the person using the computer without requiring an intrusive pop-up survey each time the panelist begins a user session.
