comScore is a leading consumer analytics company that measures what people do as they navigate the digital world and turns that information into insights and actions for our clients to maximize the value of their digital investments.  The Product Operations team is responsible for supporting the data collection, aggregation and processing environments needed for comScore to deliver data to clients on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. We collect and process 65 Billion records on a daily basis which are used to run up to 100,000 jobs daily. These processes run in Hadoop, Greenplum and Windows environments on over 1000+ servers. Our team ensures that the environments are healthy and processes are running as expected by monitoring dashboards and alerts and taking action to resolve problems as quickly as possible. 

 

About This Team:

The Product Operations team is hiring a Systems Engineer to help with environment support, application support, and process automation in both Linux and Windows environments. This position also involves support and development of software deployment processes to Hadoop and AWS environments. You'll assist with Linux server maintenance and supporting multiple Hadoop clusters. Problem solving will consume a large portion of your time, as you will assist multiple teams with resolving issues on a daily basis. Your technical and analytical skills will be challenged and will increase over time as you become the point of contact for production processing.

 

This role is more focused on production and process operations, than on pure systems administration. 

  

What You'll Do In This Role:

  • Work with development and operations team to improve software release processes
  • Provide first line support for Hadoop environment issues

Qualifications:

BASIC FUNCTION:

 

The Associate SPM position is an entry level permanent part time hourly position within comScore. The position is 30 hours per week with a flexible schedule between 8am-5pm. You and the operations team will work with fellow Survey Project Managers and Research Managers to assist and support in day-to-day functions required to manage online surveys. Entry level responsibilities include simple programming of online survey logic in Confirmit (an application for conducting online survey research), ensure sample requirements are fulfilled and perform hygiene on collected survey data to ensure the highest levels of data integrity are met.  The high-level responsibility involves the oversight of Survey-related projects and communication with appropriate parties to do so.

• Provide operational execution of online surveys.
• Ensure survey is programmed accurately and efficiently.
• Understand programming requirements for online survey deployment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 

• 0-2 years project professional work experience in business fields pertaining to research, market research, survey research or related industries.
• Bachelors degree
• Understanding of computer programming and Technical familiarity with scripting (JavaScript, jScript.NET) is highly desired.

Were a small but powerful team of data junkies, analyzing over 20 TB of data each day to deliver product and research solutions to our clients. Collaborate with teams in Software Engineering, Operations, and Product Management to deliver timely and quality data. You will be the knowledge expert, delivering quality data to our clients.

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative subject such as Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, etc.
  • Experience in data analysis and problem solving with big data.
