Senior Software Engineer - Mac (Reston, VA, United States)

This job is primarily design and development on a client based OS X application using C++. Quality Assurance Engineer (Reston, VA, United States)

PLEASE NOTE: This role requires experience with JavaScript. Previous developer experience is HIGHLY desired.

comScore is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer.  We do a great deal of our testing manually. We automate where we can, and then code those automated scripts using Ruby, JavaScript, or whatever the situation calls for. We’re looking for a great team member with strong manual testing experience to include: cross-browser, Windows & Mac OS (iPhone and Android are OK too!). Testing at the registry level or any router level testing experience would be very attractive as well.

Essential Duties

  • Identify functionality errors and potential risk with new development prior to Production launch
  • Identify potential bugs in existing applications and document all issues into the defect tracking system
  • Maintain communication channel with software engineers and project managers on current project status
  • Assist Software Engineers in troubleshooting problems in development and production
  • Understand and enforce the software release process for all application development
  • Create and execute test suites and verify expected results
  • Verify that all software releases conform to company policies on data handling
  • Perform both manual and automated tests


Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of software testing experience
  • Experience creating test cases with JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Hands on experience writing TestNG and Selenium WebDriver scripts

 In this role you'll help to bring comScore’s advertising effectiveness products to life.  By utilizing your strong technical and management skills, you will help lead a product management team in the strategy, development, and execution of comScore’s advertising effectiveness products.  This position provides growth opportunities for driven, successful individuals.

ESSENTIAL DUITES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Responsibility over all product lifecycle – from vision to handoff for select Ad Effectiveness products
  • Daily product management responsibility using Agile development framework including scrums, planning and retroactive assessments
  • Design detailed product specifications determining required data and design resources for each features as well as success benchmarks
  • Work with clients and client service and gather industry intelligence on recommended product enhancements
  • Prepare documentation, user guides, etc., and provide internal and external training

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Assists the Director of Global Tax Compliance with analyzing the income tax impact and reporting requirements for special transactions, including acquisitions, restructuring and dispositions.
  • Assists the Director of Global Tax Compliance with coordination of SOX reporting and controls, including working with tax and other finance personnel to update and maintain the tax department policies and procedures for all income tax processes.
  • Assists the Director of Global Tax Compliance with coordination of federal and state income/franchise tax audits, including drafting responses to inquiries and tax notices.
  • Monitors changes to US tax laws and regulations and determines the financial statement impact.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with and when necessary provides support to other members of the finance and accounting department, legal department, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Global Tax Compliance.

  • Serve as the expert on cross media buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competitive platforms and their weaknesses – for both internal comScore teams as well as comScore clients.
  • Work with product marketing team to create positioning and messaging that differentiates our cross media and associated products.
  • Work with the sales team and clients to understand market needs and how that influences the development of the product

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in the TV media planning and/or TV research space, including products, methods, market validation and sizing.
  • 2 years or more experience with the digital advertising research industry.  Experience using comScore products preferred.
  • Experience with video, mobile and social and market research in digital a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile development framework a plus.
  • Strong analytical orientation--must love data, and be able to articulate the business impact. Ability to analyze large information sets in order to validate product quality required.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
  • Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willing to travel up-to 25%, domestic and internationally.

Job Function:

Data Analyst role for proficient and dedicated person with experience working with large data sets to build custom solutions in a fast paced business environment. You will analyze large amounts of data, diagnose potential issues, and design technology improvements. You’ll be improving the way we measure digital advertising campaigns.  Will require working across functional teams to produce monthly deliveries with aggressive release schedule. Job will require critical analysis to help solve complex problems and build custom solutions to meet external and internal demands. Self motivation is a must. Duties & Responsibilities:

  •          Facilitate delivery of various projects through all stages of production cycle. This includes working with Software Engineers, Operations, Data QA, and Product Management to deliver timely and quality data.
  •          Help drive process improvements, define QA processes, and integrate process enhancements into production process.
  •          Build custom solutions to meet market & internal needs for audience measurement reporting. This includes developing solutions, testing, and integrating into core production process.
  •          Work across functional teams to identify and resolve data issues. Apply critical thinking to quickly resolve issues. May require client interaction.

Qualifications:

  •       Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject such as Statistics, Engineering, Economics, etc.
