comScore, a leading technology company located in Reston Town Center, is seeking a full-time Receptionist.  The Receptionist is the first person our visitors see and serves as the primary point of contact for all guests. The ideal candidate is professional but knows how to have fun in an office environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greeting, welcoming, and directing visitors
  • Answer, screen, and transfer telephone calls
  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail & packages (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.)
  • Meeting support (conference room booking & setup, catering, etc.)
  • Helps plan and assists with special events, happy hours, office gatherings, etc.
  • Provides general office administration to include making copies, faxing, distribution, record keeping, and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Professional & mature demeanor; ability to interact regularly with senior level executives within and outside of the company
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task required
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skill required
  • Proficiency in MS Office products

Job Title:  Senior Legal Counsel, IP

Reports To:  Deputy General Counsel

Location:  Reston, VA

What You’ll Do In This Role:

  • Patent portfolio development, including management of patent preparation and patent prosecution
  • Counsel Senior Executive team on IP strategy for Company
  • Due diligence support for business development and client counseling on all IP related matters, including freedom-to-operate analysis
  • Counsel and represent company on patent, IP litigation, IP transactional, and licensing issues
  • Manage claims of IP infringement at all stages
  • Analyze third party patents with respect to non-infringement and invalidity and advise on related issues
  • Manage and maximize use of outside counsel in line with budgeted amounts

What You’ll Bring With You:

  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, admission to practice before the USPTO and licensed to practice in at least one state are required.
  • An undergraduate or advanced degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of law firm or corporate law department experience is required.
  • A demonstrated background in internet and digital media technologies is preferred.
  • Effective experience managing large IP litigation matters is required.
  • Experience in the rendering of patentability and non-infringement opinions is required.
  • Experience in due diligence activities is preferred.
  • Experience in license drafting and negotiation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel) is required.
  • Must be able give well organized, thoughtful presentations to upper management and translate highly technical information to those with limited technological background
  • Ability to communicate and work well with technologists

The comScore legal team is seeking an energetic, self-driven legal operations expert, paralegal or legal assistant with experience in a range of corporate legal responsibilities.  The ideal candidate will be smart, resourceful and organized, with experience managing legal expenses a significant plus.

JOB TITLE:  Legal Operations Manager

LOCATION:  Reston, VA

REPORTS TO:  Deputy General Counsel

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Legal Operations Manager will assist the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in facilitating “the business” of the legal department.  This includes responsibility for tracking legal budgets and accruals, assisting with litigation matters, maintaining corporate records and business licenses, supporting the company’s compliance program, and supervising other team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining the legal team budget, including managing invoices, tracking expenses, and working with the General Counsel and finance team on forecasts
  • Providing support to the litigation team and overseeing legal hold implementation and litigation records
  • Tracking litigation insurance claims and serving as a liaison with outside counsel and insurers
  • Maintaining corporate records, including board minute books, governance documents and company policies
  • Managing corporate filings and business licenses (U.S. and foreign)
  • Liaising with other departments on compliance initiatives and other cross-departmental projects, including quarterly certifications
  • Supervising other legal team members while maintaining a set of individual contributor responsibilities
  • Managing special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least five years’ relevant experience in-house, at a law firm, or in legal operations
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and recordkeeping; proficiency with MS Office a must
  • Ability to work well with a large number of stakeholders
  • An orientation toward identifying and solving problems with limited supervision
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Good judgment, a positive attitude and enthusiasm for new challenges
