Facebook and Google Capture Majority of Time Spent Online in Switzerland

Over 5 million Swiss internet users browsed the web via a desktop PC or laptop in May 2013. A ranking of the top 20 properties shows that Google was the leading web destination with 4.7 million unique visitors during the month and Microsoft came in second place with 3.6 million users in Switzerland.

With an audience of 3.2 million in May 2013, Facebook reached 64 percent of the Swiss online population and also had the highest engagement. Internet users in Switzerland spent an average of 176 minutes per visitor on Facebook, 174 minutes on Google and just over an hour on Yahoo! that month.
