24 Percent of Mexican Internet Users Visited Health Sites in February 2013

Analysis of Health Visitation in Mexico Shows Salud180.com as the Fastest Growing Top 10 Health-Information Destination in Past Year

Mexico City, Mexico, March 27, 2013 – Comscore (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today released an analysis of visitation to Health sites in Mexico based on insights from its Comscore MMX service. The study found that the Mexican audience for Online Health sites reached 5.8 million visitors in February, representing 24 percent of the total online population. The study also revealed that Grupo Multicolor was the largest Health website in Mexico with more than 424,000 visitors.

“As the world goes digital, many content categories are seeking to establish audiences in Mexico, and the online health category is one that is gaining traction,” said Ivan Marchant, Comscore Country Manager for Mexico. “The increasing accessibility of online health information means that consumers are shifting from local offline sources, highlighting the importance of health marketers understanding the needs and behavior of these digital audiences.”

Mexico Health Visitation Ranks #2 in Latin America

The study showed that among health audiences in Latin America, Mexico ranked #2 with 5.8 million unique visitors in February 2013. With an online penetration of 24 percent, the category in Mexico already reaches a substantial portion of the population but also has significant room for growth. Brazil, with 23.2 million visitors, had the largest online health audience in Latin America.

Salud180 Gaining Space Among Health-Information Main Players

The audience distribution among the leading Health-Information websites in Mexico is fairly even. Grupo Multicolor secured the #1 position with 424,000 visitors in February, while Salud180.com took the #2 spot with 342,000 visitors. Salud180.com also exhibited the highest growth during the past year among the top 10 sites at 293 percent. Medicamentosplm.com was another fast-gainer with a year-over-year growth rate of 182 percent.
