Camera Content Drives Surge Among ‘Mobile-First’ Social Networks in the U.S.

Outside of the larger, established networks, some of the more talked about emerging networks have been Instagram, Snapchat and Vine. Not surprisingly, their highly visual and easily digestible content is immediately resonating with users and attracting new adherents.

All are examples of ‘mobile-first’ social networks, for which cameras enable the content creation experience and for which the devices also work well for content consumption and interaction. With smartphones facilitating simple but compelling content creation, they provide the fuel that has led to high intensity interaction and supercharged the growth of these platforms.
