Core responsibilities:

  • Manage team of up to three Product Managers in the Amsterdam and remote offices

-      Responsible for guiding the work of the individual Product Managers including:

-      Coaching and mentoring employees on best practices of Product Management (writing specifications, focusing on the important features and functionality, driving towards the vision of the roadmap)

-      Acting as a member of the team alongside direct reports – “team spirit” of management in which individual contribution by the Director is both expected for work completion and modeling work ethic and work quality to the team

 

  • Manage the execution of the Digital Analytix product roadmap

-       Drive product initiatives from concept, vision articulation and requirements documentation to “go-to-market” (positioning, development, pricing and training)

-       Lead product team to evaluate and prioritize product features for inclusion into product roadmap and communicate to engineering team for development

-       Translate customer needs into functional and technical product requirements;

-       Document use cases and specifications with a keen eye towards evaluating and documenting logical and mathematical manipulation and processing of digital data sources

-       Work closely with engineering and technical project management to ensure timely delivery of quality product

-       Interactively question and debate technical approaches with engineering specific to building/extending functionality on the Digital Analytix platform

-       Analyze the marketplace, customers, and competitors to determine the right product features and benefits in order to increase market share and retain/grow existing client base

 

  • Leadership expectations

-       Work closely with VP of Product Management to ensure that the product vision and roadmap is articulated to comScore sales teams across the globe

-       Manage direct report workflow, ensuring that the quality of products and features are managed, scoped, planned and released based on the expectations set with internal and external stakeholders

-       Advocate and contribute to product vision and definition with the ability to “sell” ideas internally and foster ownership within comScore’s Senior Management, Product and Development teams.

 

 

Requirements:

 

-       5 to 7+ years in product management for a technology or software company building products for SaaS or On Premise consumption of data analytics (ideally in web analytics or a closely related space such as data warehousing, data mining, business intelligence or digital analytics).

-       Solid understanding of web development and client/server technologies; have knowledge and be able to question and challenge product feasibility, configuration and scope on user interface, API, application layer and server architecture proposals.

-       Experience with Agile development methods 

-       Proven ability to work in cross functional teams, with all levels of management

-       Hands on experience with analytics tools and understanding of online measurement

-       Ability to articulate a concept from business strategy (value proposition, solution, positioning) to technical requirements across multiple levels of the organization (Sales, Marketing, Executives, Product and Engineering)

-       Strong analytical orientation--must love data, and be able to actively debate the pros/cons of how to collect, process and present metrics and dimensions of a dataset to the end users of the product

-       Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to negotiate with peers and management in a confident and compelling manner; Strong presentation skills.

-      Experience working in (or demonstrated ability to understand/operate in) both European and North American environments

-      Fluency in multiple languages (French, German, Dutch, Spanish) is considered as an advantage
