The Multi-Platform Majority is taking over in Germany

With Germany’s first Person-based Multi-Platform audience data taking center stage, the rise of the “multi-platform majority” and its implications for the digital economy becomes more and more obvious.

According to insights gained from MMX® Multi-Platform, which Comscore officially released in Germany today, more than half (56%) of the Total Digital Population in Germany now access the internet via more than one platform per month. Among younger age groups, the shift towards a multi-platform world becomes even more obvious: 3 in 4 people aged 25-34 use both their desktops / laptops and mobile devices to access online content.

Whilst mobile consumption adds 1.3 billion additional minutes in a month to the computer total, German users are still likely to access on computers at some point. Currently just 2% of users have abandoned computer access altogether in a month, relying on Mobile devices exclusively to access online content.

These insights show that understanding duplicated and unduplicated audiences between platforms has crucial implications for advertising and content providers.
