If you have experience managing technical and organizational projects in a fast-paced environment and can switch priorities rapidly, then this may be the role for you. We are currently re-tooling our Project Management processes throughout comScore. We'll be working to develop and execute a strategy that will allow full visibility across projects, operations and finance. The ideal candidate has leadership experience building out processes to manage projects or programs within a complex, multi-functional organization. This role sits at the intersection of multiple teams in Product Management, Operations and Product Delivery to facilitate successful outcomes of cross functional projects.

 

Initially, you'll be working on the integration of a Project Management tool (likely Smartsheet). From there, you'll expand to other areas that you and other teams identify for improvement. Additionally, you'll have access to the highest levels of management within comScore to achieve your objectives. 

 

 

What You'll Do In This Role:

  • Establish frameworks for robust project management, including: tools, risk identification, decision-making responsibility and escalation.
  • Identify, implement and share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and ensuring buy in at all levels
  • Drive projects to completion through project plan management, including all aspects of said project (i.e., requirements gathering, design, development, quality assurance, and deployment into new and existing systems)
  • Distill multiple competing product priorities into a single roadmap with achievable components and then hold other teams accountable to execute against it as efficiently as possible
  • Offer technical expertise in analyzing internal and external project requests while also ensuring they align with leadership objectives.
  • Identify potential risks, opportunities, and issues of importance related to assigned projects and communicate to leadership as appropriate
  • Provide metrics and reporting for project and delivery teams, as well as executive management
  • Act as central point of contact for projects; work and communicate directly with various internal technology groups to understand requirements and assist in identifying and implementing solutions
  • Respond to operational issues and information requests within defined areas of responsibilities
  • Document business processes/workflows and identify areas of improvement while working with various teams to implement necessary changes

 

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelors Degree in technical or other relevant field
  • 5-7 years experience managing complex projects or implementing solutions as a Program or Project Manager, preferably in the commercial space and/or private sector.  
  • Agile Scrum and/or Kanban experience strongly recommended
  • Experience with Smartsheet is desired, but other project management tools are also acceptable
  • First-hand experience implementing and maintaining project management controls and governance in a large and complicated organization is critical to your success in this role
  • Comfort using Aha! software to manage productroadmaps
  • Must have very strong diplomacy, facilitation, and communication skills (written and verbal), especially with respect to technical content
  • Must be a focused self-starter, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently under pressure with decisiveness and confidence in an ambiguous environment with limited oversight
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in providing leadership to multi-functional, geographically disparate teams with diverse professionals in a fast-paced technical product environment

  • Leadership of IT-related audits, including information security/cybersecurity, backup and recovery, data privacy management, etc.
  • Streamlining and testing of the organization’s SOX IT general and application controls with the goal to place increased reliance on system-based controls and to automate processes whenever possible
  • Partnership with senior business leaders in system implementation reviews of both 3rd party SAAS and internally developed applications to ensure the right controls are configured/developed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3+ years relevant experience with IT, IT audit, public accounting, or internal audit
  • Understanding of IT audit, IT governance frameworks (ex. COBIT, ITIL, etc.)
  • An interest in better leveraging information technology into the organization’s internal control processes
  • Strong focus on learning comScore’s core business and developing a risk and control assurance program that fits with the growth of firm

This role is for a dedicated individual proficient in data analysis, design, and development of audience measurement products, Cross-Platform Digital and Television products, and Custom Solutions. This individual should have a strong understanding of the television and digital industries, the major players in that industry and the measurement of those industries. The work she/he produces will have direct impacts towards driving business strategies for prominent industry leaders. Problems we are solving:

What, where, when, and how do people consume TV content? Which networks, sites, and platforms are changing the behavior of consumer video consumption? How and where is traditional TV viewing shifting towards internet connected devices? What is the total audience for publishers with fragmented content across TV, computer, and mobile?

 

About our team:

We’re a small but powerful team of data junkies, analyzing over 20 TB of data each day to deliver product and research solutions to our clients. We use SQL, Hadoop, Python, and many other tools everyday. We work with Product Management on what problems to solve and collaborate with Engineering and Stats teams to solve problems. We use tools like Slack and Trello to communicate effectively, and occasionally make fun of each other. We love to learn and love tackling hard problems.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop methodology and create new products.
  • Test new concepts and integrate into production process.
  • Build custom solutions to meet market needs for audience measurement reporting.
  • Participate in ongoing research and evaluation of new technologies.
  • Exercise your experience in the development lifecycle through analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of this system.
  • Collaborate with teams in Software Engineering, Operations, and Product Management to deliver timely and quality data. You will be the knowledge expert, delivering quality data to our clients.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative subject such as Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, etc.
  • Experience in data analysis and problem solving with big data.
  • Experience with SQL or knowledge of relational databases and methods for efficiently retrieving data.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve complex problems. Ability to autonomously manage simultaneous projects in a fast paced business environment. Excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • The nature of the teams dynamics will require an individual that is able to work closely in a collaborative role with other team members, as well as complete tasks individually as assigned.

Preferred:

  • Hadoop or other comparable MapReduce experience.
  • Ability to develop advanced solutions in Python.
  • Experience with statistical software (ideally, R) or scientific computation software.
  • Experience with panel data and/or Internet behavior data. Solid understanding of object oriented methodologies.
