Web Tagging Data

The purposes for which your personal data are processed:
We use the information that we collect through web tags and cookies and from third parties to operate and improve our business including to produce reports, research and information products that we share with companies that are our customers. These reports help our clients meet their business goals by providing them with a better understanding of digital consumption behavior, trends and consumer preferences.

The categories of your personal data which are processed:
The personal data category processed under ScorecardResearch and VoiceFive is digital data, such as a cookie.  A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. This process enables us to identify your device and to collect information about user behavior across non-affiliated websites and applications over time, such as distinguishing between new visitors and repeat visitors to a website or application. Third parties may also provide us with any identifiers associated with your device, such as a device identifier, or an identifier for advertising (“IDFA”). 

The recipients or categories of recipients to whom your personal data have been or will be disclosed:
In addition to using your data in aggregated market research reports, we may also share any personal information that you provide to us with parties described below:

  • Our selected third party partners;
  • Third party data enrichers, data quality aggregators and providers of data cohort matching services;
  • Our customers;
  • Our vendors, consultants, agents, contractors, and other service providers that we use to support our business;
  • Joint industry committees (“JIC’s”) involved in media audience measurement and research. Further details of JIC’s can be found here: http://i-jic.org/about_us;
  • comScore affiliates, subsidiaries, or parent companies; and
  • A prospective seller or buyer in the event of a sale or purchase of any comScore business or asset.

The period for which your personal data will be stored:
ScorecardResearch and VoiceFive web tag data will be stored for a period of 90 days.

Details of automated decision-making which your personal data is subject to:
We use automated processing for marketing and media research and for measuring advertising. Our methods of conducting this form of processing include: collecting data from our census digital network implementing software code, referred to as “tagging”; measuring ad placement, viewability, user engagement, brand safety and audience size; obtaining television viewership information from satellite, telecommunications and cable operators covering set top boxes and Video on Demand (VOD) viewership; measuring gross receipts and attendance information from movie theaters. Web audience internet usage and TV viewing information and survey results are used together with information from millions of other research panel members to create research reports on Internet trends, TV viewing habits, e-commerce and mobile device activities.  In most cases, this information is pseudonymized and/or anonymized and will not identify you by name or household.

If you would like to exercise your data subject rights in regard to this data, please complete the form below. When you submit the form, we will collect the cookie ID associated with the browser you are currently using. Collection of the cookie ID is the only way we are able to identify the web tagging data associated with your device. Any identifying information from your request, other than email address, will be deleted within 90 days of the completion of your request.  

Please note, because web tagging is conducted at the browser level, you will need to complete this form from every browser and/or device that you would like to make a request for.

To make a request for your mobile app data, you will need to provide your mobile device’s device identifier (IDFA on Apple devices, GPAID on Android devices).  If you do not know your mobile device identifier, please download an app from the appropriate app store that will display your identifier for you.  Some examples include IDFAVerify and Device IDFA in the Apple App Store and Device ID and SIM Info in Google Play.   You will need to provide that information in the form below.
