Data Analyst, Analytics, Cross Media

Do you enjoy research and development of software products?  comScore, a leading entertainment research platform, is seeking a Data Analyst for our cross-media team located in Reston, Va.  This role is for a dedicated individual proficient in data analysis, design, and development of audience measurement products, Cross-Platform Digital and Television products, and Custom Solutions.

This individual should have a strong understanding of the television and digital industries, the major players in that industry and the measurement of those industries. This person will analyze big data, diagnose potential issues, design process improvements, and collaborate across different functional teams. Self-motivation and strong communication skills are both must haves.

What You'll Do In This Role:

  • Develop methodology and create new products.
  • Test new concepts and integrate into production process.
  • Build custom solutions to meet market needs for audience measurement reporting.
  • Participate in ongoing research and evaluation of new technologies.
  • Exercise your experience in the development lifecycle through analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of this system.
  • Collaborate with teams in Software Engineering, Operations, and Product Management to deliver timely and quality data. You will be the knowledge expert, delivering quality data to our clients

What You'll Need:

  • Prove to us that you have brought an idea to life beyond the basics. Show us how you’ve gone above and beyond the ordinary.
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience (meaning a position as an analyst, and not an internship or academic project).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject such as Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, etc.
  • Experience in data analysis and problem solving with big data.
  • Expert SQL or knowledge of relational databases and methods for efficiently retrieving data.
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer communication skills with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of Hadoop or other comparable MapReduce experience.
  • Ability to develop advanced solutions in Python.
  • Experience with statistical software (ideally, R) or scientific computation software.
  • Experience with panel data and/or Internet behavior data and/or TV viewership data.
  • Solid understanding of object oriented methodologies.
