Job Title- Revenue Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis

Position Overview:

The Revenue Analyst will assist in the preparing of the monthly revenue forecast, preparing revenue schedules, and performing revenue analysis and support as requested.  The analyst will also assist in the creation of the budget, and the implementation of new processes and tools related to the creation of an automated forecast system.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build their understanding of corporate revenue analysis and forecasting and who wants to gain experience with implementing change and automation to improve processes.

What You’ll Do In This Role:

  • Revenue Forecasting- focus on tasks that will help prepare the monthly revenue forecast
    • Assist in the monthly revenue forecast by helping to build revenue projections from current contracts, projected contract renewals, expected new business, and other sources
    • Create, develop and refine revenue schedules supporting the forecast
    • Prepare schedules and analysis that help improve the linkage between Contract Value (CV) and revenue
  • Revenue Analysis- provide revenue analysis and support regularly as requested
    • Help develop and refine revenue analysis that tracks revenue by customer and other key metrics important to the business
    • Seek out better ways to analyze revenue trends and patterns to help improve the forecast process and methodology
  • Revenue Forecasting Portal- support the implementation and operation of a new revenue forecasting tool
    • Support the transition of the forecasting process from current state to the newly designed revenue forecasting tool
    • Assist with implementation, testing and tweaking of the new tool
    • Once launched, utilize the tool to provide ongoing support to sales, accounting and other teams throughout the company
  • Revenue Budgeting- assist In the creation of the annual revenue budget
    • Build supporting revenue schedules and Contract Value (CV) templates used for revenue modeling
    • Enter data into CV targets into financial ERP system and review for reasonableness

What You’ll Bring:

Working closely with the Senior Vice President for Currency, the Account Manager will be responsible for increasing the adoption of comScore’s television services as currency for planning, buying, selling and posting, by agencies, networks, local TV stations and cable companies.

This effort will include both internal and external activities. Internally the person will analyze data to identify patterns and trends within our data assets and translate these into transactional advantages for the end user. The ideal candidate will build a harmonized approach with the sales teams to create an organized effort to blend the currency discussion with other sales communications.

Externally, the person will be required to communicate, present and evangelize our advantages directly to the management decision makers and end users at both clients and in public industry forums.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strong and productive relationships with Agency, Advertiser and Media Company clients to convince their buy and sell side decision makers to use comScore as a primary trading currency.
  • Help grow currency conversions by understanding the principle business planning, buying, selling and posting objectives and goals of the clients, and how comScore services help the conversion to currency possible
  • Aid the Buy and Sell side of these clients in converting from old currency to the new comScore currency.

  • Serve as an expert in media research and demonstrate a thorough understanding of how comScore TV data is applied within a client’s planning, buying, selling and posting processes.
  • Proactively work with internal teams and Sales to manage client communications, responding promptly to questions, concerns and requests.

comScore has an immediate opening for a Senior Product Manager to join our Product Management team, working with our valued client base, sales, and technology executives to drive the product strategy for our Branded Entertainment and Social Media lines of business.

The Senior Product Manager will have an in-depth knowledge of the branded content and social media measurement landscape, as well as the operational and technical capabilities that support comScore's branded content and social media measurement offerings. In order to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have the ability to author strategic documentation, case studies, and sales collateral in addition to being able to produce detailed functional documentation and implementation plans based on fine-grain requirements. What You Do In This Role:

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive product roadmap to advance the growth and positioning of comScore's branded content & social media measurement offerings

What You Bring:

  • BA or BS preferred in business, computer science, engineering or equivalent education/training/work experience
  • 5+ years in the product development, including requirements analysis, workflow design, application specifications, and user testing
  • 3+ years in the advertising technology space, with deep experience in creating and/or measuring non-traditional advertising (e.g., sponsorship, social media, branded content, native content)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In this role, the successful candidate will analyze large amounts of comScore's data, design new methods to solve specific problems in the data, and design improvements for the future. This is a technical position requiring analytical and market research expertise, preferably with experience working with very large data sets.
  • Expected to take a project leadership role in development of methodology for the next generation of digital and cross media measurement in Europe and Asia.
  • The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively across internal teams and external stakeholders with a wide variety of statistical backgrounds.
  • The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director Statistical Analysis in Amsterdam and will serve European and Asian research needs, coordinating with Statistical Services team members in Reston to ensure consistency in methodology.
  • This is a key position in the Statistical Services team with high potential for advancement and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Social Sciences or similar degree with a focus on statistical methodology.
  • 4-5 years’ experience in doing machine learning and robust data analysis, particularly in big data environments, e.g., Hadoop.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English are a must. Other European and Asian languages are a plus.
  • Programming experience in R, MATLAB or Python (R strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with categorical outcome modeling
  • Experience with basic SQL querying
  • Experience working with varied small teams
  • Ability to autonomously manage multiple projects simultaneously, in a rapidly changing environment

  • Deliver exceptional client service support to leading media clients

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative or technical field
  • 2-3 years of work experience that includes analytical experience
  • Experience in a consulting role, with an advertising agency or with a digital media company is a plus
  • Experience with syndicated data or custom market research and specifically analyzing advertising metrics or users’ Internet behavior is a plus
  • Proven proficiency with numbers and statistics, experience in analyzing large amounts of data, and an ability to consolidate and translate that data into business insight
  • Project management skills, including the abilities to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and work effectively with colleagues and clients in diverse departments, geographic locations, and time zones
