Six Out of Top Ten Markets for Airline Sites are European

Airline sites penetrated 24.9 percent of the internet population in Ireland, making it the top market worldwide for sites such as RyanAir and EasyJet as of July 2011. Ranking second was neighbouring country United Kingdom, where Airline sites reached 23.7 percent of the total online audience. 4 out of the the top 5 markets for the category consisted of European countries as Canada ranked fifth, with Airline sites reaching 17.7 percent of the online population in the country.

On a global scale, the number of unique visitors coming to Airline sites declined by nearly 3 percent. Engagement with Airline sites in terms of time spent also decreased by 2 percent over the past year. However, the total number of pages visited increased by 2 percent.
