Comscore Releases Japan SIM-Free Mobile Phone User Insights for May to July 2016

SIM-Free Phone Users More Likely to be Aged 54 Years Old and Below Compared to the Total Mobile Audience in Japan

Tokyo, Japan, 05 October 2016 – Comscore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR) today released data from the Comscore MobiLens® service, reporting key insights into Japan SIM-Free mobile phone users for 3 months ending July 2016. Mobile phone users aged 54 years old and below were more likely to use a SIM-Free phone than the total mobile population in Japan. The main reason for using a SIM-Free smartphone was to reduce monthly cost. In addition, Softbank Mobile users were more likely to purchase a SIM-Free phone or unlock their current mobile phone, compared to the total mobile audience in Japan.
