Comscore Selected as the Internet Audience Measurement Currency in Finland

Accredited Audience Data Will Deliver a Trusted, Holistic View of the Online Media Industry

Helsinki, Finland, 28 March, 2017 – Comscore, a leading cross-platform measurement company, today announced it has been selected as the preferred vendor for audience measurement in Finland for the next two years.

The selection was made by the Finnish Association of Marketing, Technology and Creativity (MTL) together with Media Metrics Finland (MMF) who represent Finnish Internet Audience Measurement (FIAM), a joint body organised on behalf of Finnish advertisers, agencies and media owners that has been tasked to steer audience measurement development in Finland and to provide the industry with highly comprehensive and trusted cross-platform audience data.

Through industry-approved solutions, including Comscore MMX, Mobile Metrix, Segment Metrix and Reach/Frequency, clients will gain a comprehensive view of digital audience behaviour, including visitation, engagement, demographics and other insights, helping the industry better understand audiences and their content consumption. These solutions are available now for clients.

Comscore will also be launching MMX Multi-Platform in Finland beginning with a beta period in May 2017 followed by a public release of the first FIAM-approved data in August 2017. MMX Multi-Platform will provide an unduplicated view of total digital audience behaviour across desktops, smartphones and tablets to help media buyers and media sellers accurately reach and account for consumers in today’s fragmented digital landscape.

“Comscore is bringing greater trust and transparency in measurement to the Finnish market, which further demonstrates our commitment to the industry,” said Juha Ourila, Sales Director at Comscore Finland. “Comscore MMX Multi-Platform launch is now a necessity in understanding the best way to reach and engage consumers effectively and efficiently across devices.”

“The transition to the international syndicated products of Comscore encourages constant product development,” said Tomi Härmä, Managing Director of MMF. “With the growth of the digital Finnish market, being able to introduce a more robust methodology is essential and Comscore will now allow the entire industry to better understand their digital audience on multiple devices.”

“Providing independent, reliable and comparable data on internet audiences is crucial for the common good of the whole industry,” said Tuuli Toivainen, Research Director of the traditional Finnish media house, A-Lehdet Oy. “I hope all publishers, agencies and advertisers can actively be involved in the process to help guide the development of this new audience measurement offering.”

Following the appointment in Finland, Comscore is now the appointed online measurement standard in six markets across the globe, including the UK, Spain, Indonesia, Malaysia and, most recently Norway via the acquisition of the Kantar TNS internet audience measurement systems. Comscore also enables cross-media measurement via advanced tagging and data collection in three additional markets including the Netherlands, Sweden and Turkey.
