Associate Statistical Analyst

Job Title:  Associate Statistical Analyst

Location:  Reston, VA


In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining statistical models that provide deep insights in understanding online audiences and advertising campaigns. You’ll have visibility that you will not get at other organizations, including working directly with our SVP, Research and Methods.

  • You have an excellent knowledge blend of mathematics, probability and statistics experience.
  • You have strong understanding of data analysis and know how to apply this knowledge in solving business problems.
  • You have a strong background in modeling and experience working with large data sets.
  • You understand how to analyze statistical data and tell a story about this data to internal and external parties. Of course, you have proven examples of this.
  • You’ve got a confident, positive attitude and recognize the value of the other members on your team.



  • Work directly with our SVP Research and Methods to:
    • Analyze information obtained from management in order to conceptualize and define operational problems
    • Formulate mathematical or simulation models of these problems
    • Work with product and development teams defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions
  • Undertake the operational and technical aspects of processing information and data analysis in areas relevant to the work area (understanding audience and campaign measurement)
  • Contribute to the development of processes, procedures, methodologies and systems relevant to the work area, including preparation of appropriate documentation
  • Understand the requirements of internal and external clients and where applicable, liaise, communicate and provide assistance
  • Apply knowledge and maintain awareness of issues for providing advice in areas of expertise
  • Research conceptual and methodological issues and recommend/implement improvement based on research.


  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or other Quantitative Analytics required, masters strongly preferred
  • Bachelors plus 1+ years of working in statistical modeling or statistical problem solving environment or masters and relevant modeling experience gained in university environment
  • Strong understanding of statistical tools / model building and their application to solve business initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Statistical programming experience in R strongly desired.  Experience with Python, Matlab, or other statistical packages also a plus. 
  • Deep enough skill to write queries extract data and pull together concise, detailed reports.   Experience with SQL also a strong plus
