Instant Messaging Accounts for More Than 25 Percent of Total Time Spent Online in Turkey, Followed by Social Networking at 10 Percent

Facebook.com is Turkey’s Most Popular Social Networking Site with More than 13 Million Visitors in May 2009

LONDON, U.K., July 16, 2009 – Comscore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today released a report examining the usage habits of Internet users in Turkey, based on data from the Comscore World Metrix audience measurement service. The study showed that more than 18 million people in Turkey age 15 and older accessed the Internet from home and work locations in May 2009, giving Turkey the seventh largest online population in Europe.

Instant Messaging Accounts for More Than 25 Percent of Time Spent Online

Turkey’s 18.1 million Internet users spent a combined total of 544 million hours online in May, an average of 30 hours per person, which ranked higher than any other European country individually reported by Comscore. Instant messaging was the most popular online activity accounting for 25.9 percent of total time spent online during the month, followed by social networking (9.9 percent), online games (6.9 percent) and e-mail (4.6 percent).

Facebook.com Most Popular Social Networking Site in Turkey

In May, 14.4 million Turkish Internet users visited a social networking site, representing a 79.6 percent reach of the total online population. Facebook.com ranked as the most visited social networking site in May with 13.1 million visitors, more than 10 million higherthan its nearest competitor. Turkish-owned social networking site, Mynet Eksenim, ranked second with 2.5 million visitors, followed by Netlog.com (2 million visitors) and MySpace Sites (1.1 million visitors).
