Comscore Announces the Introduction of Mobile Consumer Panel Data to MMX Multi-Platform and Mobile Metrix in Mexico

53 million Mexicans visit Social Media sites or apps, of which 39 million are mobile

Mexico City, Mexico, November 22nd, 2016 – Comscore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR) today announced major upgrades to MMX Multi-Platform and Mobile Metrix in Mexico with the introduction of data from its recently launched mobile consumer panel. The introduction of Android mobile panel data expands Comscore’s measurement of mobile audiences in Mexico to enable more robust reporting of visitation, engagement and demographics including new segments for age and gender and presence of children.

“The launch of mobile panel data marks a key step forward in advancing measurement of digital audiences in Mexico,” said Ivan Marchant, VP Comscore Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Central America. “As mobile devices play an increasingly important role in consumers’ lives, the need for robust and unduplicated measurement across platforms is stronger than ever. We are thrilled to mark this latest measurement milestone in Mexico and look forward to continuing to deliver the data and insights clients need to make better decisions in today’s evolving, multi-platform market.”

Comscore MMX Multi-Platform and Mobile Metrix combine data from desktop and mobile consumer panels with data from the Comscore census network. This unique approach provides an unduplicated, persons-based measurement of total digital reach. Further, Comscore measurement continues to evolve to address consumers’ changing behaviors and new technologies including the ability to measure and credit traffic from third-party apps and content distributors such as Facebook Instant Articles and the Google Play Newsstand, to ensure publishers are able to consistently account for their entire digital audience across devices.

Key findings from September 2016 data include:

  • The Total Digital Population in Mexico reached 62 million users across desktop, smartphone and tablets.
  • 37 percent of internet users are multi-platform, meaning they access internet through more than one device.
