Comscore Releases May 2015 U.S. Desktop Search Engine Rankings

RESTON, VA, June 16, 2015 – Comscore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a global leader in digital media analytics, today released its monthly Comscore qSearch™ analysis of the U.S. desktop search marketplace. Google Sites led the explicit core search market in May with 64.1 percent of search queries conducted.

U.S. Explicit Core Search
Google Sites led the U.S. explicit core search market in May with 64.1 percent market share, followed by Microsoft Sites with 20.3 percent (up 0.1 percentage points) and Yahoo Sites with 12.7 percent. Ask Network accounted for 1.8 percent of explicit core searches, followed by AOL, Inc. with 1.2 percent (up 0.1 percentage points).

18.2 billion explicit core searches were conducted in May, with Google Sites ranking first with 11.7 billion. Microsoft Sites ranked second with 3.7 billion searches, followed by Yahoo Sites with 2.3 billion, Ask Network with 329 million and AOL, Inc. with 210 million (up 7 percent).
