Job Title: Vice President, Strategic Business & Corporate Development

Location: Remote

About This Role:


This position will lead Comscore's key strategic growth initiatives across new & existing partners as well as corporate development (M&A) and strategic opportunities. The individual in this role will be familiar with the largest companies in the evolving advertising ecosystem and is comfortable in evaluate emerging technology and trends globally. We are looking for an individual with knowledge and experience in strategic business development and creating transactional deal structures covering key commercial partnerships and financial investments. This role will directly manage all aspects of Comscore's sourcing of new partnerships all the way through execution and integration.This individual will have experience in working with contacts at large influential Digital Advertising & Platform companies, TV Programmer Networks, Advertiser, and Agency Community. An in-depth knowledge of the marketing and data ecosystem and its emerging trends is critical.The individual will help conduct financial feasibility studies and develop proposals for new business opportunities. This role requires significant external focus to keep Comscore as a thought leader and key player within our ecosystem. This individual will work closely with leadership in Product Management, Sales, Legal, Product Marketing, and Data Science.The ideal candidate will be a hands-on executive that thinks like a business owner and has a strong vision and understanding of the digital, mobile and TV/ OTT media landscape. This position will report to Comscores EVP on Global Strategic Partnerships.


What You'll Do:


  • Develop and execute innovative partnerships and investments that deliver partner value and accelerate Comscore's market leadership.
  • Structure and negotiate deals, including business case and deal modeling, to support robust partnerships that generates meaningful financial growth for Comscore.
  • Source, evaluate, and integrate partnerships/ acquisitions in collaboration with key internal stakeholders including commercial, financial, legal, and operational aspects of agreement.
  • Work with Comscore leadership to develop and align on growth roadmaps and go-to-market strategies that consider organic and inorganic opportunities in both existing and adjacent markets.
  • Be seen internally as go-to contact.
  • Proactively maintain and develop relationships with a robust and growing network of contacts in the advertising & media industry.
  • Support activities to make Comscore a partner of choice among potential partners.
  • Communicate the goals, plans, expectations and performance metrics across the organization on an ongoing basis.
  • Have a deep understanding of Comscores Products and Markets to enable you to be a good business partner, and to enable you to make good context-based decisions.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in confidential matters of significance
  • Manage small internal team directly to a high level of performance and productivity
  • As required provide leadership in the recruitment, training, mentoring and development of top-quality talent across the organization.

What You'll Need:


  • BS/BA degree in business, economics or media MBA or advanced degree a plus1 5 years+ total experience.
  • At least 5 years experience in driving revenue and business growth working with audience measurement, advertising effectiveness services and/or custom research solutions to support media companies, advertisers, ad platforms and advertising agencies.
  • Experience in management consulting or investment banking is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex issues and develop/apply simplifying frameworks to facilitate broader organizational understanding, decision-making, and action.
  • A strong desire to be part of the fast growing advertising & content media ecosystem and related convergence across digital, mobile and video (television / OTT).
  • Understanding of mobile video, web technologies, social media, and advanced video television distribution is critical
  • Proven experience at leveraging analytics, data, financial models, and insights to drive decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements.
  • Strong project management skills and able to effectively manage multiple ongoing projects to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and unstructured problems
  • Outcome oriented with proven ability to create high quality and influential, partner-facing presentations
  • Experience with different types of transactions (licensing, technology integration, co-marketing, M&A, etc.)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to craft compelling presentations/narratives to describe a deal and sell it to the Leadership teams
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint
  • Open to travel as needed to support opportunities
