How Finland's Online Users consume Content across Mobile Devices

While today’s Multi-Platform-Users’ ubiquitous media consumption provides publishers and advertisers with new playing fields and opportunities to engage with audiences, it also increases the need for platform-specific insights.

With data from Comscore Mobile Metrix® showing that content consumption patterns in Finland vary greatly across tablets and smartphones, the need for such insights becomes even more obvious.

In August 2014, over 75% of all mobile page views within the Social Media category in Finland were consumed on smartphones rather than tablets. Newspaper sites are also witness to their readerships’ evolving habit of on-the-go media consumption, with 66% of their page views coming from mobile phones.

Tablets prove to be the preferred platform for accessing Automotive and Real Estate content (75% and 67% of all page views from tablets, respectively), indicating Finnish users’ preference to use bigger screens when researching on larger potential future investments such as new homes or cars.

From editorial development to strategic advertising campaign planning and buying: understanding how and where audiences consume content across platforms impacts a wide range of business functions within the digital ecosystem.
