Staff Accountant

The Acountant will be responsible for managing the monthly calculations of the liabilities related to our Revenue Sharing arrangements and various other accruals related to revenue. This role will work with other divisions within Comscore to ensure all accruals are accurate. The Accountant must be able to ensure effective controls are in place for these processes and address any noted issues. The Accountant will support the close by doing journal entries and work on special projects.

What You’ll Do:  

  • Identify and account for contracts with Revenue Sharing arrangements including recording accruals related to revenue share payments and reconcile related accounts
  • Work with key stakeholders within Comscore to ensure that all accounting is timely and accurately
  • Assist in ensuring controls are properly documented for this division of Comscore
  • Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to the process
  • Perform monthly financial and ad hoc analyses to ensure accurate accounting
  • Assist the team with ad hoc projects
  • Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Assist with month end financial close assignments as needed
  • Assist with information gathering for external and internal audit requests
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations

What You'll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, with emphasis in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Excel with the ability to manager pivot tables and vlookups
  • Experience creating journal entries for accrual based accounting
  • Experience with Salesforce and Workday Financials preferred but not required
