August 2014 highlights:

  • 3.6 million people in Finland went online via their desktop PCs or laptops in August 2014, spending 4.1 billion minutes surfing the web – a strong Month-on-Month increase of 5%.
  • For the first time in over a year, Sanoma Group overtook Google Sites as the leading property in Finland’s Top 20 rankings in August 2014. The media group, which includes the websites of leading newspapers Ilta-Sanomat and Helsingin Sanomat, reached 94% of Finland’s online population. The fact that Google is ranked #1 in August 2014 in all other western and central European markets currently under Comscore measurement makes Sanoma overtaking Google in Finland all the more remarkable.
  • Schibsted Media Group’s audience grew by 18% in comparison to July 2014. Not only was this the strongest performance among the Top 20 in regards to MoM development, but also lifted Schibsted to #10 position in the rankings.
