Travel took a fall when COVID-19 first hit the U.S. in March 2020.

It saw a comeback during spring 2021 but slowed again in summer 2021 when Delta variant cases began to rise. The year-over-year (Y/Y) growth for both total digital visitation and desktop spend cooled off in recent months, even though in a June 2021 survey, a high percentage of consumers showed neutral or unconcerned attitudes towards taking flights or staying in hotels.
